It Was a Wild Night Out!

Even though Covid made itself known with social distancing and mask wearing, the Student Managers of the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic still made the in-person event wild for all. And it was great to be together again after two years apart. The students worked all Fall semester gathering donations of eighty six on-line silent auction items and another fifteen live auction items. The silent auction had selections ranging from pet care gift baskets to Fit Bits and Instapots. Many of the live auction items were donated by staff Veterinarians from the U of I Teaching Hospital which included a golf outing, a Pub Cycle event and sa’mores  under the stars at a Vet’s home. There was also a 50-50 raffle and a playing card raffle for a package of gift cards valued at over $300!

The event was sponsored by the Wildlife Support Fund providing volunteer manpower before and during the event under the expert guidance of WSF Board Members Nina French and Gina Clapper. Of course no one can get those bids up higher than the long-time Auctioneer Dr. Denny French and his very capable Assistant Dr. Sam Sander. A special thank you to Papa Del’s for providing the space, pizza and drinks.

The students raised over $8000 for the Wildlife Medical Clinic and provided the students attending some much needed time to relax and have some fun at a Wild Night Out.
